Living Turf is pleased to announce its turf growth regulator, SHORTstop TGR, has received full registrationfrom APVMA for the suppression and control of Poa annua and for general turf growth regulation. 

This is the first time this active ingredient (paclobutrazol) has been registered in a liquid for turf use  

The significance of this is born out in the flexibility of rate selection, the low cost in use and the ability to control nutrition separately to application of this unique turf growth regulator.

Rate flexibility offers key benefits

The degree of winter grass control is influenced primarily by the rate and frequency at which SHORTstop TGR is used.  Most temperate research shows that a ‘little and often’ application strategy is the most effective means of suppressing wintergrass competition in a bentgrass greens (see your tech rep for more info’).  The rate flexibility provided by SHORTstop enables managers to control Poa annua seed-head, facilitate the establishment of bentgrass seedlings in a Poa annua sward, achieve increased putting speed and also prevent the establishment of poa annua seedlings in a pure bentgrass environment.
